Jeff Gwinnell is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Northern States Metals and a member of the Company’s Board of Directors. Mr. Gwinnell has extensive experience leading engineering and manufacturing companies. He was previously CEO at Avtron, an engineered products company serving the Distributed Power Generation, Automation and Aerospace industries; Bluewater Thermal, a service business providing heat treating and brazing processes to industrial companies; and AXIA Inc., a global equipment manufacturing and rental company serving industrial and construction customers. His previous experience also includes senior roles at M.A. Hanna Company (now PolyOne), Westinghouse, and McKinsey & Company. Mr. Gwinnell holds a B.Sc. (Chemistry) degree from the Australian National University, a B.E. Honors (Chemical Engineering) degree from the University of Adelaide and an M.B.A. from Stanford University.
Susan Will joined Northern States Metals in August 2015 as Chief Financial Officer. Ms. Will is an accomplished financial executive with a strong portfolio of successes. Prior to joining NSM, Ms. Will spent 8 years as Vice President at Mylvan N.S., a $7 billion pharmaceutical company, where she drove the successful integration of large multi-billion dollar international acquisitions. Her previous experience includes 6 years at Alcoa Inc., a $22 billion global leader in the metals industry, in increasing roles of responsibility. Prior to that, Ms. Will was Vice President and Controller of Lucent Technologies, where she managed finance and IT for a $100 million subsidiary and received the Lucent Strategic Excellence Award. Ms. Will began her career in public accounting at PwC. Ms. Will is a CPA and holds a BA in Economics from Washington and Jefferson College, where she was Summa Cum Laude.
Ken Mack joined Northern States Metals in September 2015 as Executive Vice President of Operations and Engineering. Prior to joining NSM, Mr. Mack was with Permco Inc., a manufacturer of high-pressure hydraulic pumps, as the Director of Global Supply Chain, where he was responsible for manufacturing facilities in the US and China. Before this role, he was Purchasing Manager for Global Purchasing at Federal-Mogul Corporation, a $7 billion manufacturer of vehicle powertrain and safety components, with responsibility for over 30 manufacturing facilities. Mr. Mack started his career at General Motors where he spent 16 years in increasing roles of responsibility, in the metal fabricating division and in various engineering and production positions, and ultimately as the Manufacturing Operations Manager and Engineering Group Manager for various divisions of GM. Mr. Mack holds an MBA and MEM from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Kettering University/GMI Engineering & Management Institute.
Steve Daniel joined Northern States Metals in March of 2013 as Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing for the Solar FlexRack division. Daniel has 25 years of top sales performance in solar and high-tech. Beginning his career as an industrial engineer with Digital Equipment Corporation, Daniel has enjoyed increasing responsibilities in companies such as Sun Microsystems, BEA, and Silicon Graphics. Prior to joining Solar FlexRack, Daniel held roles as VP of Business Development at Hyperion Systems and Chief Sales Officer at CentroSolar. Daniel has a Bachelor's of Science in Industrial Engineering from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and participated in continuing education at the Harvard Extension School in Cambridge, MA.
